Working from Home Tips

March 27, 2020 // Live, Uncategorized

Amid the current COVID-19 pandemic, have you found yourself suddenly working from home full time? While many people have been doing this for years and are work from home pros – some of us are learning the ropes. If you’re new to the work-from-home lifestyle, you may have learned that staying productive can be extremely difficult. We’re all in this together and we wanted to take a moment to share our top five productivity tips with you!

One- Get Ready

Treat each morning like you are going into the office. Brush your teeth, shower, change out of your pj’s, and wear something that energizes you. If that’s a suit wear a suit, if that’s your favorite pair of blue jeans wear those, if that’s your high school letterman jacket, wear that. Getting ready for the day signals to your brain that it’s time to shift gears and start working.

Two – Create a Work Space

It’s easy to work while lounging on the couch or from bed, but creating a designated space to work from makes all the difference. Take the time to set yourself up with an area to work, preferable at a desk or table. Make sure it is clean and accessorize it with your favorite things, a cute plant, a picture that inspires you, your favorite candle, etc. Having a designated place to work from will help you separate from work when you are truly relaxing on the couch.

Three – Move Your Body

Take 30 minutes to move your body everyday. “One study showed that workday exercise improves an individual’s overall well-being and increases their time management and productivity skills by 72 percent.” So be sure to get up, go for a walk, do some at-home yoga. Your body and mind will thank you.

Four – Plan for Tomorrow

Use the last 10-15 minutes of your work day to plan your next day. You want to make sure that you are starting each day with a game plan. Planning your next day ahead of time will help you properly manage your time and give you direction in the morning.

Five – Check in + Collaborate

Social Distancing can be extremely lonely and company culture is more important now than ever. You can build a collaborative and accountable company culture by setting up Zoom meetings, conference calls, and assigning one another asana tasks. Communication is vital to every organization’s success and helps ensure that everyone is on the same page. And make it fun.

We hope that you all are all staying safe and healthy!
